Interactive Web Programmer/Designer

The successful candidate develops and manages assigned intranet and internet projects for the agency and its clients. This person should be skilled at conceiving, designing and programming websites that are visually inviting, functional, dynamic, effective, and capable of maintaining the brand image and achieving the strategic goals/objectives set forth in the Interactive Strategic Marketing Plan.

This person works with account services, web copywriters and content developers to produce, maintain and update content and design for agency produced and maintained websites.

The web programmer/designer also produces cutting edge online creative advertisements (banner ads, buttons, email etc.) for assigned online advertising projects based on provided creative briefs. This job function requires some familiarity with rich media and online bandwidth considerations.

The web designer should be capable of handling multiple projects, and have strong interpersonal skills. This person should have a well-developed design sensibility and an eye for detail as well as exception web programming skills. The web programmer/designer must be a self-starter and have the ability to think outside of the box.

The web programmer/designer should have extensive knowledge of and experience in typographic, identity, web, information and interactive design including experience with programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Quicktime, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash. Strong programming skills including HTML, Javascript, CSS, Cake, Ruby on Rails, PHP, ASP, Macromedia, SQL Server, CGI, Windows NT, and XML development are essential. This person should also have extensive experience with and/or knowledge of web server hardware, site architecture, user interface requirements, web navigation, web page layout, cross platform issues, browser and platform compatibility and capability, animation, image compression, size and speed issues. Knowledge of Cold Fusion, firewalls, and other network/server security issues, as well as web-based electronic software are required. A degree in IT, communications design or a related field is desirable.
