HISTORY
Scan Design, established in 1969, is the Southeast’s largest retailer of modern & contemporary furniture. Scan Design has grown from just two employees and one location to over 130 employees at its eight locations throughout Florida.

CHALLENGE
The client was previously marketing in local publications & traditional outlets for branding purposes and to gain exposure to their local stores. When approaching .Com Marketing, Scan Design had completed a redesign of their website. In doing so, there was an understanding with the client that consumers, more than ever, are looking online for local products and services. The client wanted to have their website positioned in front of these consumers just as they had been doing with their print & media campaigns.

PROCESS
Our task was to give Scan Design’s website the same great exposure in the online environment they were used to from their traditional advertising. The initial goal of the SEO program was to be a magnet and place of information for local users to entice them to visit one of the retail locations closest to them. Additionally, we wanted to prepare for 2009 and beyond with plans to enable the website for ecommerce. The ultimate goal is to drive online branding and awareness as well as ecommerce transactions to supplement the in store sales and broaden their distribution.

RESULTS
The SEO strategy increased their exposure considerably with immediate results for highly searched non-branded terms. Initially there was virtually no non-branded traffic but after just 9 months of our services over 33% of all search traffic was coming from non-branded terms. In addition, their overall organic search traffic increased by 42% which now represents over 54% of all traffic to their website.
